Who We AreFounded in 1987, The Strolling Strings of Bismarck is a performing organization sponsored by the Bismarck Public School in Bismarck, North Dakota. What started out as one performing group has now grown to three different groups including student in 5th-12th grade. The group of 100+ string players on violin, viola, cello and string bass have created quite a name for themselves in central North Dakota. They have requests from organizations and businesses throughout the area to entertain at their conventions or special dinners. In addition to their performances in their region, their travels have taken them to perform on both coasts-from New York to San Francisco, from Orlando to Seattle.
What We doThe members of the Strolling Strings are all members of their elementary, middle school or high school orchestra programs. These students have committed to memorizing a program of light classical and popular music. Our shows include "oldies" as well as more current pop, and familiar fiddle tunes. We night even sing to you! Seasonal favorites will spice the show when appropriate. Our usual performance is for an audience seated at table for a dinner or banquet. Our show will include the performers playing in a large circle around the room, as well as strolling right up next to the quests and "getting a little rosin dust in their soup"!
